Ahh…slowly but surely I’m getting more ideas again for my nails. Today again I wanted to try out a couple of polishes I bought lately, and after some unsuccessful attempts my eyes caught this ‘instant galaxy nails in a bottle’ kind of purple-blue colour with a subtle glitter, also known as Nails Inc ‘Franklin Row’.
As I was obviously too tired to draw on stars and such to make it a true galaxy design, instead I grabbed my bottle of Elf ‘Pixie Dust’ and that did the trick just fine – I love the subtle shimmer flakes!
However, I felt like the look today needed just a little more, and that’s when I saw my other subtle glitter, the too cute to be true Hello Kitty ‘Pink Sprinkles’. That really finished my early weekend party look! Three times glitter’s a winner! Now off to find that
party good night sleep…
(photo note: my cuticles were kind of ruined last week at a nail salon…) Today, before I read the comments of my previous entry, I decided to try 2 of my new polishes from the USA: Sinful Colors’ SinfulShine ‘Endless Blue’ and Fergie by Wet n Wild ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’.
The (very pretty) kobalt blue is so pigmented that I only needed 1 coat. Love it!
The glitters were slightly harder: this is one of those glitters you expect to pop, but in actual fact you need to be lucky to find 2 stars on your brush, rest being regular top coat. The stars and glitter are really pretty though, so I took an orange/cuticle stick, dipped the brush in the bottle a few times, removed any stars with the stick and set them aside. After putting 1 coat of the glitter on each nail, I simply added the kept away stars to any nail that had too little.
There you go! Next up, trying out the fuzzy polish..
Soooooo the husband’s out of town, I’m home alone eating a microwave meal, thinking of what to do…oh what the heck, let’s just practice some different nail art techniques!
I couldn’t decide what to do, so I first chose 2 base colours: Catrice ‘Bloody Mary to Go’, a nice deep red, and Catrice ‘Papa don’t Peach’ – indeed, a bright peach colour. Continue reading
It hurt a little bit to part with my last simple design. Even guys digged the black and white graffiti…just sayin’, girls 😉
If you read my last blog you’ll have seen that I raided my local chemist yesterday. So many colours, I did not know which one to choose first! Then I had a quick look at my new heels I got from a vintage designer store the other day…
So…Queensday in The Netherlands was truly amazing. The nails worked quite well, better than I thought!
But now it’s all back to normal and that means the flags must go.
As I was still recovering from the day I’d trouble making decisions, so in the end I chose for something simple. I recently got Nails Inc.’s Brick Lane graffiti glitter, and I paired it up with Nails Inc.’s Mayfair. I love the result! Beforehand I was wondering what base colour would work with these glitters, and pearl white works terrific. I used 2 coats of the white and 3 coats of the glitter to get the effect as shown on the pic.
Back to recovering now 🙂
Happy Monday all! Well what a start of the week, I just started a new job and wow, it’s great 🙂 To celebrate (OK and just because it’s Monday) I wanted to treat myself to a new nail design. One slight problem though…first days on jobs are always more exhausting than expected, so my big ‘inspired by nature’ idea’s not going to happen until tomorrow or Wednesday. Watch this space!
So today I decided to just grab a couple of polishes and start painting away. No plan, no nothing, just going with the flow… Continue reading
The idea came from looking around on Pinterest; I saw someone who’d collected several examples of ladies doing a couple of nails with a leopard print, and a couple with several stripes but all in the same colour story. I thought it looked amazing, so decided to give it a go, adding in a few twists. First, I only just started out using tape to stripe my nails, so opted for one wide band rather than several smaller stripes. And I felt like playing with glitter a bit, I’ve this (here we go again, sponsor me already haha) Nails Inc. rose coloured glitter which is deliciously amazing, I’d been wanting to use it again for a while. Anyway, on to how I did it! Continue reading
